Der NYSE Trin (Ticker $TRIN) ist ein Intraday Trader Index. Die Formel für diesen Indikator sieht folgendermassen aus:

Er zeigt dir also an ob das grössere Volumen bei den steigenden Aktien oder bei den sinkenden Aktien ist. Ein Trin unter 1.00 heisst das grössere Volumen ist auf der Seite der steigenden Aktien, während ein Trin über 1.00 angibt, dass das grössere Volumen bei den sinkenden Aktien ist. Ursprünglich wurde er entwickelt um einen überkauften beziehungsweise überverkauften Zustand des Marktes frühzeitig zu erkennen.

Ich brauche den Trin folgendermassen... Wenn die Märkte beispielsweise so um die 0.50% im Minus sind, der Trin jedoch auf 0.55 ist, was heisst dass das grössere Volumen klar bei den steigenden Aktien ist, dann kaufe ich, da ich davon ausgehe, dass die Märkte Intraday noch drehen werden. Natürlich kann man dies auch umgekehrt machen. Also wenn die Märkte im Plus sind und der Trin z.B. auf 1.50 ist, was ein stärkeres Volumen bei den sinkenden Aktien anzeigt, dann könnte man short gehen.

Ich habe dies anfangs des Jahres ein paar mal dokumentiert. Hat wie ihr seht nicht immer funktioniert.

LONG STOCKS

During next hour stocks slide further to the downside (Dow -1,6%, SPX -1.3%)
Trin even more bullish around 0.47
Dollar even more down

About 1-2 hours later stocks turn around at around breakeven overall.

At 20.15 the Fed announced to buy up to 300 billion in long term us dept (treasuries). After this announcement markets jump 2% up.

Mittwoch, 25.03.09

Stocks at 18.00 up ( Dow 2.2%, SPX 2%)
Trin around 1.90
Dollar almost flat (-0.17%)

SHORT STOCKS

At around 19:00 stocks turn sharply to the downside (low ca. - 1% Dow and SPX)
In the last trading hour stocks turn up again, crazy rollercoaster, end around 1% higher

Donnerstag, 26.03.2009

Stocks in first half hour up around 1% (Dow 0.7%, Nasdaq 1.5%)
Trin jumps at ca 15:45 to 1.58 and than even to 2.2
Dollar almost flat

SHORT STOCKS

Stocks turned a little bit down in the next hour to pretty much flat in the Dow and SPX. However, they didn’t manage to turn negative and have risen sharply the rest of the day with the high at the end of the day (Dow +2.3%, Nasdaq +3.8%). The Trin stayed all day long around 1.55.

Trin slides after being above 1 to 0.75
Dollar up 0.85%

LONG STOCKS

at 16.30 stocks have found a bottom and advanced to (Dow -1.83%, SPX -1,7%)
Trin improves to 0.65, Dollar falls a little

Stocks didn’t rise more, they turned lower again and closed on the low of the day (Dow -2.3% SPX – 2.39%). Trin jumps in the last hour to 1.44

Stocks down in the first hour (Dow -1.3%, SPX – 1%)
Trin very bullish @ around 0.35 – 0.5
Dollar down -0.9%

LONG STOCKS

Stocks turn up all the second half of the day Dow 0.3% SPX 1% where I could take profit. In the last 10 minutes, however, the turned down a little bit and closed around flatline (Dow –0.33%, SPX +0.23%)
